Vocals Extraordinaire Born from
the influences of soulful Motown, the disco-funky 70’s, and thick
hip-hop R&B flavor. Elizabeth Dellinger is a multi-faceted songwriter,
musician, producer and vocalist. Her voice has been compared to
that of Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keyes, Teena Marie, Mariah & Faith Evans,
although her style is clearly unique. From the Apollo stage to CBGB’s, to
Carnegie Hall, Elizabeth has impacted audiences of many generations
and genre’. Her background as a filmmaker, actor, dancer, poet and
designer has helped her to ripen her craft. In addition, Elizabeth’s lyrics to many of her songs contain positive messages to all of us, but young girls in particular. One of the causes she supports is strongly enhancing self-esteem in young girls, as one half of the United States aids population is made up of black females aged 13-18. It is Elizabeth's quest to help find solutions to the problems that perpetuate our society. She is also
very aware of the reality of the entertainment industry's negative impact
on the young female population. Being a activist she created the "Leading
Ladies", which is a teen leadership/ performing arts program for girls
from all economic and racial backgrounds. As a young woman, she clearly
remembers the effect that the media had on her self esteem when she was a
teen. In fact, most women in this country go through similar bouts with
body image struggles and the unrealistic pursuit of perfect beauty. She have made up her mind to make music that will not harm anyone in any way. The gift of music is a powerful voice in itself. Artists should take that into consideration before sending any message. Everyone can do his or her part. E-Mail - airbornejazz@snet.net |
